Customer approval links for auto repair

Updated October 22, 2026 · For mobile and independent mechanics

Most mechanics get approval by phone or text. It works, until the customer remembers the price differently, or the “yes” is buried in a thread. BayApprove gives every job a private approval link instead.

The customer taps the link, sees exactly what they’re approving, and presses one button. You see the job move to approved, and the record stays with the job.

What the customer sees

  • Your business name, so they know who it’s from.
  • The vehicle and a description of the work.
  • The parts total.
  • One button to approve.
  • Your phone number and address, if you’ve added them, in case they want to call first.

How it works

  1. Add the job with the customer, vehicle, parts total and a note on the work.
  2. Move it to “awaiting approval”.
  3. Text the link from your phone, or press “Email the link” to email it from the app.
  4. The customer approves; the job moves to approved automatically.
  5. Order the parts and do the work.

Why a link beats a text thread

Everything the customer needs is on one page, so they can forward it to whoever is paying and they’ll see the same thing. The approval is tied to that job and total, not to a message you have to scroll back to find. And your Approvals board shows every job still waiting, so nothing is forgotten.

Common questions

Does the customer need an account?
No. The link opens in any phone browser.
Can someone guess the link?
No. Each link contains a long random code, and the page is kept out of search engines.
